Recently, I’ve gotten hooked on the television show, Jane by Design (2011). Though shows about high school girls generally don’t thrill me, shows about fashion do. In one of my favorite episodes, the title character is given a Birkin from her employer’s Hermes collection. Amusingly, the handbag is later taken for a fake by one of Jane’s classmates. I couldn’t help thinking that if an original can be taken for a knock-off, fake bags must be getting pretty good.
